Terms of Service

These terms are written for lecturers, tutors, departments, and institutions using GradeOptimus to create, deliver, and grade assessments. Institution contracts or signed order forms may add or override specific commercial terms.

Use GradeOptimus for lawful assessment workflows.

Lecturers remain responsible for final academic judgments.

Institution agreements may include custom terms.

Accounts and access

Users must provide accurate account information and keep login credentials secure. Account administrators are responsible for users they invite into their workspace.

You must notify GradeOptimus promptly if you believe your account or institution workspace has been accessed without authorization.

Acceptable use

  • Do not upload unlawful, malicious, infringing, or abusive content.
  • Do not attempt to bypass security controls, access another workspace, or interfere with platform availability.
  • Do not use GradeOptimus to make decisions that are prohibited by law or by your institution's academic rules.
  • Do not submit student data unless you have authority to use GradeOptimus for that assessment workflow.

Academic responsibility

GradeOptimus supports assessment operations. It does not replace a lecturer, tutor, examiner, academic board, or institution policy.

AI-generated grades, marks, comments, summaries, and extraction results are suggestions. The educator or institution must review and approve final grades before publication.

Payments and plans

Paid services may be sold per course, per exam, per student script, per department, or under a custom institution agreement. Limits and inclusions are described at purchase or in the applicable order form.

Fees are due as stated on the invoice, checkout page, or signed agreement. Late payment may result in suspended access to paid features.

Content and intellectual property

Lecturers and institutions keep ownership of their exam papers, rubrics, student submissions, marks, and academic content.

GradeOptimus owns the platform, software, workflow design, product content, and related intellectual property. You grant us the limited permission needed to host, process, display, and support your content inside the service.

Service changes and availability

We may improve, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We aim to provide reasonable notice for material changes that affect paid institution use.

The service may be unavailable during maintenance, incidents, third-party outages, or events outside our reasonable control.

Termination

You may stop using GradeOptimus or request account closure. We may suspend or terminate access for non-payment, security risk, unlawful use, or material breach of these terms.

After termination, data export and deletion will follow the Privacy Policy, any institution agreement, and applicable retention requirements.
